Digital Explorers
7th - 15th March
Fluidforms presents new digital possibilities at Digital Explorers.
The programme consists of presentations from design practitioners, craftspeople, researchers and technologists. Each evening is themed around the use of digital technology in ceramics, textiles, interiors and architecture, metalwork and jewellery, with some talks featuring demonstrations of cutting edge digital equipment.

 Salone Satellite 2006The Fluidforms team transformed visitors into sculptors at the 2006 Salone Satellite. Visitors to the Fluidforms stand at the world leading design show were given a pair of boxing gloves and let loose on a punching bag. Sensors inside the bag transmitted the punches to a computer, creating a one of a kind 3D printed lamp shape according to the positions and impact of the blows... more |

 Fingerprint Sculptures: An Interactive Computer Installation including Prints and Sculpturs
The interaction of the artwork with its environment, a basic principle of Fluidforms, enables the creation of sculptures. Fingerprints act as keys to the creation and existence of certain sculptures, which are generated through computer algorithms from precise characteristics drawn from the individual fingerprints. The individual sculpture is then displayed first as a projected image and are then produced with a 3DPrinter that enables the realisation of every such complicated form.
